Problem Note 59100: SASĀ® fails to launch when the CONFIG system option path uses quotation marks
On a UNIX platform, if the CONFIG system option specifies a path enclosed in single or double quotation marks, SAS fails to start. For example, SASFoundation/9.4/sasv9_local.cfg SAS fails to launch and it returns an error if CONFIG contains either of the following:
- -CONFIG "/mnt/sharedconfig/sas/custom.cfg" or
- -CONFIG '/mnt/sharedconfig/sas/custom.cfg'
The error messages are as follows:
- ERROR: Cannot obtain status of "<current directory>'<CONFIG-path>'": No such file or directory
- ERROR: Cannot obtain status of "/opt/sas/'/mnt/sharedconfig/sas/custom.cfg'": No such file or directory
Workaround
To work around the problem, simply remove the quotation marks from the CONFIG path.
A fix for this issue is planned for a future software release.
For more information, see the "CONFIG System Option: UNIX" section of the SAS® 9.4 Companion for UNIX Environments.
